Fuel Prices makes fuel costs easier to understand across borders. We bring published prices and historical observations together so you can compare countries and explore how prices change.
What you can compare
Our overview covers 14 markets. Country pages show prices in local currencies and units, while the international comparison displays pounds, euros and US dollars per litre. US gallon prices are converted using 3.785411784 litres per gallon.
Where the data comes from
We use published observations from the following sources. Each country page identifies its source, coverage and latest observation date.
- India: Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Dated petrol and diesel prices for the IOCL Delhi reference outlet. This is not an India-wide average. Daily checks collect new published observations; no historical values are inferred.
- United Kingdom: DESNZ weekly road fuel prices (Open Government Licence).
- European markets: European Commission Weekly Oil Bulletin.
- Netherlands: Statistics Netherlands (CBS) (CC BY 4.0).
- United States: U.S. Energy Information Administration.
- Australia: FuelWatch Western Australia (CC BY 4.0). Coverage is Western Australia only; daily values are simple averages of reporting stations, not national or volume-weighted averages.
- UAE: daily readings of the four published tariffs from ADNOC Distribution, alongside historical monthly Fuel Price Committee announcements published by Emirates News Agency (WAM).
How to read the charts
These are reported historical observations, not live prices at every station. Publication frequency varies by source. Lines connect observed values; we do not invent additional daily measurements. UAE tariffs are displayed as steps. New ADNOC observations use the date the page was checked, because the source block does not state an effective date. Repeated values represent repeated checks, not new price changes. Each small country chart uses its own price scale.
Petrol grades, survey methods and observation dates differ between countries. The comparison is an overview of reported prices, not a claim that every market sells an identical product. All comparison prices include taxes.
Currency conversions
Conversions use the latest stored European Central Bank rates supplied through Frankfurter. AED conversions use the official 3.6725 AED per US dollar peg. Converted prices are indicative; they do not include bank fees and are not historical daily exchange-rate calculations.
Keeping prices up to date
Our update system checks each source daily and exchange rates twice a day. A successful check does not mean the publisher issued a new price. If a source is unavailable or its format changes, the last valid data stays visible and the site indicates delayed checks.
Our aim
We want comparisons to be clear and traceable. That means showing the fuel grade, date, unit and source alongside prices, and being explicit when coverage is regional or observations are limited.
